DOTCUT Privacy Policy

Effective September 23, 2026

DOTCUT is a privacy-focused creative camera. This policy explains how the app handles your content and information.

1. Photos, Videos, and Camera Content

Photos, videos, Live Photos, camera frames, gestures, and visual effects are generated and processed on your device. DOTCUT does not require an account and does not upload this content to our servers.

2. Face Data: Use, Storage, and Deletion

To create visual effects, DOTCUT temporarily analyzes face locations in camera frames on your device. When expression stickers are enabled, it also analyzes lip landmarks to determine an expression and place a sticker. This analysis does not identify you or create a face template or personal profile.

Face locations, lip landmarks, and temporary effect masks derived from them are used in device memory for the current processing and may be cached briefly while the app runs. DOTCUT does not separately write these analysis results to persistent storage, upload them to our servers, or disclose them to third parties. They are no longer retained after the app process ends. There is no server retention period because we do not receive this information.

You can turn off expression stickers in the app to stop lip-landmark analysis; face-location analysis may still be used for visual effects. To stop all new face analysis of camera frames, revoke DOTCUT's Camera permission in iOS Settings or stop using the app. Analysis results held only in running memory are cleared when the app process ends. Photos, videos, and Live Photos that you choose to save may contain visible faces. They are stored in the system Photos library and may sync according to your iCloud Photos settings. You control how long you keep them; you can delete them in Photos and clear Recently Deleted according to iOS controls. If you choose to share a saved item, DOTCUT cannot control retention or deletion of the recipient's copy.

3. Permissions

4. Data Collection and Sharing

DOTCUT does not transmit your camera frames, face-analysis results, or saved creations to us, sell them, or share them with third parties. The app contains no advertising SDKs, third-party analytics, or third-party sign-in. Services you open through external links are governed by their own privacy policies.

5. Settings Stored on Your Device

DOTCUT stores preferences such as presets, colors, language, and capture options locally on your device. These settings are not sent to us.

6. Version Checks and External Links

When you open the About screen, DOTCUT may contact Apple to check the latest App Store version. The request includes the app identifier and storefront country, but does not include your photos, videos, camera frames, face-analysis results, or effect preferences. Links to our website or other services open in the system browser or the relevant app.

7. Children

DOTCUT is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes and Contact

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date on this page. For privacy questions, contact sunv1599959406@163.com.
